This set of wonderful original musicals penned by Junya Saiki with music by Akiko Kosaka and lyrics by Saiki and Kayoko Fuyumori has been under appreciated by the Sailor Moon fandom for far too long! This series stars none other than Usagi Tsukino, Soldier of Love and Justice as she goes on a journey with her friends, the Sailor Soldiers, to discover what it means to be a “perfect, flawless human being”, whether a “Lullaby” can solve loneliness and just what the “true mission of Light and Darkness” is. In the Dracul Series, Sailor Moon faces multiple groups of Undead enemies who form an unsteady alliance against God’s Humanity that rejected them. The Dracul series is full of wonderful songs from sweet duets like “Gondola Sweethearts” to 11 o’clock numbers like “We’ll Be the Last Victory”, villain numbers such as “Sonnet of Darkness” and numbers where the villains sing about goals that may not be so villainous after all like “Fateful Encounter ~ LIlith and Astarte”. Each of the Guardian Soldiers receives their own theme song for the first time as well, and of course, the Outer Soldiers are ever-reading with their powerful numbers like “Bundle the Hearts ~ Watchin’ On The Sight”.  In traditional Sailor Moon fashion, this Series explores themes of Jealousy, Loneliness, Dreams, Friendship, Love and Motherhood.  In this series we are introduced to a cast of wonderful, memorable villains like the enigmatic Lilith of Darkness whose goal is to build a world of equality between woman and man and human and spirit, Death Lamia, a vampiress who has found the feeling of blood in her body the closest thing to living for six hundred years, Bloody Dracul Vampir, a Dhampir who wishes for her heart to be thawed, and of course the infamous Sheba Shingetsu Astarte, also known as Sailor Astarte, tenth Sailor Soldier from behind the Sun. These characters and more are just waiting to be met. The Dracul Series is named for one of the principal characters, Count Dracul and Bloody Dracul Vampir, the mysterious Head Vampire from Wallachia, Transylvania and his daughter respectively and spans four musicals, the third being a revised edition of the second though we recommend watching both to explore all the characters and themes in this series.

Meanwhile Michiru is headed off on a Concert Tour in Europe but things go awry when their guide never shows up. Count Dracul’s daughter, Bloody Dracul Vampir now seeks revenge on the Sailor Soldiers for the events from the previous show, aided by a duo of Serial Killer Werewolves also with help from her caretaker, Le Fay, and the Magician, Lilith of Darkness. The Sailor Soldiers are invited to the Mansion of Memories. However, each of the villains have their own agendas… Who will be The Last Victory? To complicate matters further still… a new Sailor Soldier shows up… but is she a friend or is she a foe?

Decisive Battle / The Forest of Transylvania – Revised Edition – The Enigma of the Ultimate Enemy, Dark Cain

In this revision of the previous musical, which retcons some major scenes to prepare for the Finale, the plot outline is essentially the same, however, the ending and fates of the characters is wildly altered. The story of Lilith and Astarte is moved into the background for the story of the Ultimate Enemy, Dark Cain to take full stage. We recommend both these musicals to be watched.

The final musical of the Dracul Series!

Setsuna detects a strange cold wave coming from Europe so the Outer Soldiers intend to head off to Monaco to investigate, leaving behind Usagi’s group. However, the rest of the Sailor Soldiers are not so easily fooled especially with Death Vulcan’s advent so near. When her friends are threatened, Usagi surrenders but at what cost… The villain behind all the Dracul Series is revealed at last but who is it really? Dark Cain? Death Vulcan? In this enigma that spans 7,000 years, Sailor Moon must find a way to finally end the Final War of the Stars and Planets.

Please check out this wonderful and very under-rated part of the Sailor Moon metaseries today! Special thanks to Joe for helping us prepare this rerelease.
