Nogizaka 46 Musical

Downloads | Lyrics | Cast

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon – Nogizaka46 Version is a Sailor Moon musical featuring members of the idol group, Nogizaka46. The show was split into two groups for the main cast (Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Venus) as Team Moon and Team Star. The musical ran originally from June 8th-24th 2018 then again in September from Sept. 21st-30th 2018. The final day performances of Team STAR and Team MOON were broadcasted on TBS Channel 2 in Japan as well as a livestream at various movie theaters in Japan.

2019 followed up with a second run of the same show. The Nogizaka46 members were replaced with new members from the idol group, but the rest of the cast remained the same (except the ensemble). There were a few small differences, like added sound effects and the Luna puppet receiving an upgrade to having blinking eyes and blue, civilian clothing was slightly different and during the live concert, the Nogi cast performed Ai no Starshine instead of Solar Miracle Make-Up.

This show also featured the return of two actresses in previous Nelke musicals: Mikako Ishii (previously Sailor Pluto in Petite Étrangère, Un Nouveau Voyage, Amour Eternal and Le Mouvement Final) and Chihiro Ando (Tiger’s Eye in Amour Eternal). It also featured the appearance of Luna since 1993 Summer Musical Gaiden Dark Kingdom Fukkatsu Hen except this time she is portrayed by a puppet.  This show is also the first time a musical has followed the Dark Kingdom story where Usagi first transforms and then awakens each of her friends as Sailor Guardians.

  1. Thank you for upload, but the files of Team Moon mp3´s are not working, after the download and unpacking of it.

    1. Sorry for the delayed reply! You’re comment somehow got thrown in my spam box and I’m just seeing it now. I’m going to have to remake the compressed folder and reupload. I’m not sure what happened but downloading it is giving me trouble too. I’ll get that fixed when I’m back on my home PC!

        1. I’ve been a bit busy since we released the Nogi 2019 show but I’ll try to get these up hopefully sometime in the near future. 🙂

            1. Not sure if you saw our announcement, but I was able to make them! Process went quicker this time since I’ve learned a few things. 🙂 Enjoy!

  2. I didn’t expect an idol group pull this kind of quality on a stage musicals! Thanks for the translation!

One thing tho… in the future, would you please encode the audio in maximum quality possible, 320kBps, the least? The noise it produces on high pitch voices are noticeable in my system. The MP3s you provide, somehow, sounds worse than the movie (it sounds like a double-converted MP3).

    1. I usually try to encode the audio at the default of the DVD/Bluray and I want to say I kept it at whatever quality they were originally released at. I’d have to double check my files when I have some free time.

The MP3s were kindly provided to us by Jay (of Kosjay Myu Scans, linked above) so I have no control over that. I personally do not have time to redo the mp3s. You could always download the bluray file from the link above and rip them directly from the bluray. 🙂

      1. Perhaps you’re using a preset encoding? For example, in Handbrake, the preset encoding for 1080p set the audio to 160kBps, the same bitrate on your encodings. In most small projects, this does well, but imo, it’s not enough for eargasm musicals (I cant remove that We’re Dark Kingdom tune from my head, help). If I may use a comparison, the Karyuudo fansubs of Takarazuka Rurouni Kenshin is encoded at 1536Kbps.

For the MP3s, it’s unfortunate that Nelke(?) haven’t provided any soundtrack of this or the 2013 Musicals. I’d love to order that myself 🙂

        1. I’ll have to look into it next time I use Handbrake to rip media! I probably need to double check my settings when I run the video through Avidemux to add the subtitles. I’ll be the first one to admit that I’m pretty rubbish at understand video settings and audio, though I’ve learned a bit over the years. Not to mention there’s so many varying opinions on the subject and a lot of it is also determined by the end users hardware.

And I agree, it is too bad that Nelke hasn’t released any soundtracks with the exception of those limited edition CDs from AE and LMF and those didn’t even have all the songs on them. I was hoping NogiMyu would maybe releasealbums since its tied with an idol group but…nothing yet. (and don’t get me started on Super Live! xD)

          1. Indeed, the varying opinion, which most likely stems from the hardware in possession would spur a lot of quality debate >_< However, since this is a musical, I think there's no such thing as too much sound quality XD

I had been tasked to encode a whole library of my spouse's Takarazuka DVD collection, so more less I have experience, but limited to DVD and digital releases (for YouTubes). I just now got a Blu Ray of FGO The Stage Replica Agateram and intend to use AAC Quality 10 for the sound. I'll check how that goes.

And yesh, NogiMyu please release your music album so I can Jadeite Pose every time that song plays!

…on the second thought, probably no posing in public.

          2. If you are using handbrake, turns out the H.265 MKV 1030p 30 preset does wonders to video quality. You can set the Quality RF to 20 for extra quality. For audio tho, you can set it to AAC avcodec with Quality 10 (instead of the Bitrate 160 default). Finally, the encoding speed is up to you; I personally use fast since last 2.5 hours video on slow takes 10 hours to make

The 3 hours FGO turns to be about 5.14GB and the image quality is pretty hard to differ from its ~39GB source.

            1. Oh wow! thanks for the advice! I just finished redownload the Bandai Myu DVD raws since my original downloads were getting messed up on my external HD so I think I’ll play around with ripping those with these settings and see how it turns out. 😀

  3. Thanks very much. Awesome job you did here. Would you be doing the 2019 Sailor Moon (Nogizaka46) with Kubo Shiori this time as Usagi? I’d appreciate it if you will.

    1. I never want to give a 100% yes as it will really all depend on our translator’s schedule and if she can fit it in. Hopefully so, since I think most of the bulk work is done already, it would just be going through and re-timing everything. As usual, we’ll likely wait for the DVD/Blu-ray release next year. 🙂

  4. Hi, where can I download subtitles separately? I want to make a translation into my language, of course, indicating your source. Thank you!

  5. Hi! Thanks for the great work.
Is there a possibility that the Team Moon mp3s could be reuploaded in a lighter version? I have troubles playing them. IDK if it’s because of their big size since I’ve tried differents programs or there is another problem. Also the sound quality is not (much) better than the Star version so smaller files could be a good idea, if possible.

    1. I’m not sure what the difference is since these files were given to us to share, but I’ll see what I can do!

    2. Sorry it took so long, these files gave me quite a bit of trouble too but I was able to compress them to a smaller size and have been reuploaded. Hope these work better for you!

    1. Yes, would you mind sending us an email (seaofserenity.net @ gmail.com)? I’m at work and the files are at home. I’ll reply later this evening!

    1. We do have plans for NogiMyu 2019. Super Live at this time is a no as there hasn’t been any announcement of an official recording in any manner (no livestream TV broadcasts or anything that we know of). The show itself provided subtitles for the international audiences, and the dialogue is so minimal, those subs really weren’t even needed (except for the 2-3 songs that weren’t Moonlight Densetsu). I would hope if an official DVD/Bluray were released they would provide the subtitles they provided at the international performances. At that point, we would encourage fans to support the official release and buy the DVD/BR. 🙂

  6. Hi! Just a suggestion: in the downloads section you should add “2018” to the 2 first teams. I know fans will distinguish them, but I think it would be better that way.
    Greetings and thank you again.

  7. Will you going to provide subtitles for behind the scenes videos of 2018 version and other bonus videos as well?

    1. Which file did you download and also have you tried the mirror links? Those are hosted on google drive and all 3 files sound worked when I checked. Something weird may happened when you were using the direct download link, so maybe try those links instead.

  8. Hello! Thank you for you work on these! I was just having trouble downloading the videos and Team STAR mp3s, but I don’t know if the problem is because I’m on Mac or not.

    1. For the MP3s, they are in a .zip container so you will need to find a program for Mac that can unzip it. Then you should be able to play them with whatever program you use for media. I’m not sure about the videos. Have you tried both direct download and the google drive uploads? If they downloaded fine, they should play in a program like VLC so I would suggest finding a Mac equivalent (VLC might even have a Mac version). Since they are .mp4 they should be compatible with most players and devices. Hope that helps! I’m not really knowledgeable about Macs so that’s the most I’ve got. ^^;;

  9. Thanks so much for all the hard work. I had high res but not with subtitles, this really improves the collection!

    1. Glad you enjoyed! I’ve been working on getting the DVD & Bluray quality of Nogimyu 2019 done (just keep having multiple personal things popping up these past couple months) so hopefully can get it out soon and you can enjoy high res with subs for 2019! 🙂

  10. Hi,
Will there be .avi links for the three Nogizaka 46 musicals at any point?
I personally like to watch these old school style, with a USB on my TV, and .mp4 is not supported.
If there’ll be no .avi files, then my second problem is that even the .mp4 for Team 2019 BluRay quality, on both this page and the mirror link, will not play for me when downloaded. The standard Windows player tells me I need to purchase another codec to play it, and QuickTime just straight up gives me an error. This is not an issue with either the Team Moon or Team Star BluRay files… so I’m not sure if there’s an error with the Team 2019 file itself.
Of course, in an ideal situation I’d prefer .avi files for all three, but if that’s not going to happen, I hope I can still watch Team 2019 without the logos in the corner from the television broadcast
I appreciate all the fantastic work you do, and I hope this can be fixed too
    Thank you!

    1. I do not plan on redoing the Nogi files to .avi at this time. They have given me issues and I think part of the problem is the size of the files and my PC being on the older side. However, you could use a video converter program to convert it to .avi. There are several free programs out there with a quick google search. As far as the other issue, have you tried playing the file in another media program like VLC? I test out all our files in VLC. I hope that helps!

      1. Hi Hikari-sama, I, too, would like to obtain the subs separately. I’m to translate them into Swedish, so my grandchildren and I can watch it alltogether. If you kindly would mail them to me, all three: Team Moon, Team Star, and Team 2019, I would be really grateful. (The video without any subs I allready have.) Thank you!

    1. Unfortunately, no news besides “its happening” has been released. I’m guessing its going to happen after the initial Japanese performances and streams.

  11. Just a FYI for anyone wanting to download the BluRay version of the 2019 NogiMyu, you need a HVEC Codec to play the video and it is $0.99 to purchase through Microsoft. On a different note, the quality is A++++.

    1. Thank you! However, you should be able to view this using VLC, which is free, with no issues. Let us know if youre having problems!

  12. Hello I got a question are you going to do add English subtitles to the new 2021 Sailor Moon musical which have been released on blu-ray on Jan 2022? I want to know since I been collecting all of the musicals all thanks to this websites and well I do have a file of the blu ray rip of the new musical but it does not have English subs on there and I was wondering if you and your team will add English subtitles to the new musical soon

    1. Hi! We may release a subtitled version of the Kaguyahime musical at some point but since there was a period of time in January where official subtitles were available for paid streaming, we do not plan on rushing them out. Partly as we wanted fans to support the official version (so we can get more!) and also to avoid any potential copyright hits (its always a risk).

  13. These are incredible! Thank you so much! I’m a big musical fan and I love Sailor Moon but this is a side of the franchise I never even knew existed till I saw a TikTok video on them the other day.

  14. Hi!! Thank you for all this material. It’s stunning!! I’ve got a question: Will you release a sub version of Kaguya-hime musical? It’s the only one I haven’t watched and I’d like to.
